I'm not sure if I'm sad, or excited that summer is almost over! With fall approaching I thought I should post a fall inspired outfit. I wore this outfit to hang out with my siblings in the city, but we ended up in Brooklyn instead. My favorite piece of this outfit has to be the bag! I initially purchased it for school, its big enough to carry my books and macbook, and I won't have to worry about anything in my bag getting wet on rainy days thanks to the material. It looks like a Michael Kors bag but with a much better price tag! My second favorite piece is the vest. It really ties everything together so well, don't you think?! Lets not forget the shoes, for those of you who can not stand being in high heels for too long but absolutely LOVE them (like myself), these shoes have been heaven sent. They're only 3.5 inches and very comfortable.. ANNNND they come in different shades. ;)
So there you have it, a very simple yet stylish outfit on a budget.
Remember; we don't have to break the bank to look and feel great.

Broken Mirror DIY

I wish these photos would reflect how amazing this DIY project turned out!
The idea for this DIY project came from an earlier project I did with a wooden letter that I glued onto one of my Shelfs.
I love the idea of painting the inside of any shelf with a vibrant color, but I wanted to try something different, and heres is what I came up with...

Before:

Here's a look at what my cube bookcase looked like before the project. I purchased it at Walmart about a year ago.

What you'll need:

  • A mirror
  • Foam board
  • Measuring Tape
  • Mod Podge Glue
  • Hobby knife
  • pencil
  • Hammer
  • Ruler (not shown in picture)

Step 1:

I measured the length and width of one cubic opening from the bookcase using the measuring tape. Then I mapped it out onto the foam board using a ruler and pencil.

Step 2:

I then cut out the measurements using the hobby knife and repeated the process three more times.

Step 3:

This part was scary but fun! With the hammer, you lightly tap the mirror in different areas to break it. While doing this, you do not want to have the mirror laying flat, you want to have it tilted so that the mirror does not shatter all over your room. Then comes the fun part, I spread mod podge glue all over each cut out piece of foam and began applying random pieces of the mirror onto it. Once I was done, I put all four pieces to side to dry over night.

Step 4:

Once its all dry, you can pop those suckers into your bookcase and voila! You have a stylish brand new bookcase! This project was so much fun and scary at the same time lol. Please comment below I'd love to hear your thoughts on this project! :)

A Dose of Ombre

Products Used:
Matte Lipsticks: Dose of Colors; Kiss of Fire (shop item)/ Purple Rain (shop item)/ Berry Me (shop item)

This ombre lip was actually an outcome of me being bored and playing with makeup. I'm sure you can tell from the funny selfies lol. Surprisingly it came out pretty good and I thought I'd share it with you guys :) I purchased these matte lipsticks a while back and have worn them individually. I love that they go on wet and dry matte and the fact that they're vegan lipsticks is a plus. I originally wanted to film my first video showing you how I achieved this lip, but I still don't have a camera and I haven't quite figured out how to work "final cut". So for now pictures will do. The first color I applied was Purple Rain all over my lipsThe second color I applied was Berry Me at the center of my lips and spread it a bit to make it blend better. Then I applied Kiss of Fire on top of Berry Me on the center of my lips, but did not blend it, and just like that your ombre is complete! This was my first ombre lip and I really loved it, let me know if you'd like to see more posts like this :)

Neon Accent

Outfit Details:
Blazer: H&M (shop item)/ Crop Bustier: Victoria's Secret (similar)/ High Waist Pants: Fashion Nova (shop item)/ Shoes: Lola Shoetique (shop item)/ Clutch Bag: H&M (similar)

It's finally starting to feel like spring! I don't know about you but I feel like this passed winter was way too long. Although I have to admit, I will miss wearing a different scarf every day. My favorite part of the spring is all the beautiful bright colors we can wear, like this pop of neon yellow. I have absolutely fallen in love with these shoes! From the moment I purchased them I have thought of the many ways I could wear them. Surprisingly, this was not one of them, but I think it work out just great. Like my last post, I wanted to keep it simple but still make a statement. I kept my makeup very neutrul. I contoured the hollow of my cheeks using Mac Cosmetics "NW45" and highlighted the highest point of my cheek bones using Mac Cosmetics "Soft and Gentle". Added "Mocha" blush also from Mac Cosmetics to the apple of my cheeks and added nothing but mascara to my eyes. My face was very glowy and dewy since I mixed my tinted moisturizer with "Orgasm" illuminator from Nars. I wanted to achieve that JLo glow and I did. Unfortunately the lighting was not on my side, so my face looks dark in all the pictures, :/ still haven't invested in a good camera so you can't see all my hard work. As for my hair, I added some Bellami balayage hair extensions that I cut to blend better with my hair. I cut my hair really short so extensions were a must! I just love this white on white look, it's a look you can wear any time of the year, what makes a difference is your focal color. If it were winter I'd probably make my accent a darker shade. You can wear this outfit to any event, gathering, or a day out in the city with your girls. Where would you wear this to? I'd love to know. :)

S P R I N G - V I B E S

Outfit details:
Top: H&M (shop item)/ Pants: Fashion Nova (shop item)/ Shoes: Payless Shoes (shop colors)/ Clutch: H&M (similar)/ Body Chain: Small Boutique (similar on SALE)/ Floral Blazer: Forever21 (similar)

Let me start by saying I absolutely love this look! I wore this look to a gathering I went to on easter. Being that the gathering was a last minute plan, I had not bought a new outfit or had my hair done, so I shopped my closet and decided to keep my hair up. The blazer was a gift from an old friend, I had it  hanging in my closet for about a year and thought the occasion was perfect to finally wear it. I love the bright colors it has and thought it would go perfect with my comfort plus heels. Once I paired the two everything else was basics, a white tank top and dark blue high waist jeans completed my outfit. Last but definitely not least, I accessorized with a gold mini clutch and a gold body chain. As for my makeup, I decided to keep it simple but bold. I wore one of my favorite lipsticks called "Bang Bang" from Melt Cosmetics, bronzed my face using "Give me Sun" from Mac Cosmetics, I winged out my eyes using "NYC Liquid Liner" and vuala, my look was complete! How else would you wear this blazer? :)
